Well as you can see I hardly ever post anything here. So I am going to merge this blog with Blooming Fields in hope that I will actually post some of my art work with any regularity. So visit me there

Solomon Brand (1924?)

A friend and I are motivating each other to work on our art. We both agree it is easy to slip into craft projects or nothing without motivation. Now we're meeting once a week to do some art and to give each other a parenting break.

Since I've been spending so much time with old photographs lately I've been inspired to do a book about photos. Not of them exactly but of the idea of them. I think it is going to be a prose poem with photos that have been reinterpreted (sewn, painted, layered).

So this week it's writing for me.

I found an art trade of altered matchboxes that I made one for. I found some old journal cover paper with old paper dolls as images and cut out one of the girls. I named her Sadie and put her on the cover. Then I made an accordion book called "Sadie's Not So Innocent Thoughts". It comes across as the journal of a heartless young woman. It was a fun evening.

Down time

I know I know I know. This looks like a defunct blog. It isn't I promise just between the Holidays and going to New York Art making has taken a back seat. I'm back now and have time to be creating.
